Red Sky Defense is the exclusive applicator of the HausShield Pro coating system along the Western Slope of Colorado and up to Laramie, Wyoming. We apply three kinds of fire-retardant coating, each matched to a different structure and a different situation, out of our base in the Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
What we do
Every coating we apply is made by the manufacturer. We're the applicator, not the maker. The science behind the coatings belongs to them; the quality of the application belongs to us.
What that application looks like is a trained, certified crew led by a working builder, covering a structure the way it needs to be covered rather than the way that's fastest. Which coating goes on your property depends on what you're protecting and whether you're planning ahead or reacting to a fire that's already close.

Existing Homes, Buildings, and Fencing
For a structure that's already standing, there are two very different ways to protect it. One is fast and temporary. The other is built to last. They solve different problems, and which one is right depends on your timing.
Temporary coating: EmberSafe
EmberSafe is a temporary and cost effective, non-toxic coating for existing structures. It's the reactive option: the one people reach for when there's fire in the area, or a season is shaping up to be a bad one, and they want protection on quickly.
It works by helping prevent ember ignition and creating fuel breaks around a structure. It isn't permanent. It holds for a while and then needs reapplying.
Permanent coating: BlazeStop / BlazeGuard
BlazeStop is a permanent coating applied over existing siding and fencing before a planned repainting. This is the plan-ahead option: applied once, by a certified crew following the manufacturer's application guidelines, and built to stay on.
Every BlazeStop application is certified by an independent third-party inspector. That step isn't ours to skip. It's built into how the permanent coating is applied, and it's how coverage gets verified rather than assumed.
New Construction
For a new build, two different protection applications go on at different stages of the build for maximum protection: FrameSafe is applied before the walls go up and BlazeStop/GlazeGuard is applied after the walls are up and before the exterior paint, so the structure carries fire-retardant protection from the studs out.
It's worth planning into the build schedule from the start. One detail that matters on site: the primer works with paint, not stain.
Barns and Livestock Structures
For the people who keep animals, this is the coating that matters most. Not because the building is worth more, but because when a fire comes, the question is how much time you have to get animals out.
StallSafe
StallSafe is a water-based coating built specifically for barns, stables, and livestock structures. It's safe around animals and trees. Application starts with a heavy first coat and is kept up with reapplication on a schedule, so the protection stays current on a building that's in daily use.
A Note on Self-Applied Kits
Some of these coatings are also sold in retail form for people who want to apply protection themselves. That's a real option, and for some situations it's a reasonable one.
The difference with professional application is coverage. A crew coats the whole structure, including the places that are hard to reach and easy to miss, and matches the right coating to the property. If you'd rather handle it yourself, we're glad to point you in the right direction. If you'd rather it be handled by a trained professional, that's what we do.
